I am a British Showjumping UKCC Level 3 Coach and professional rider, based at Model Cottage in Cheshire, where I have access to excellent facilities for the training, production and development of horses and riders.
I have successfully show jumped internationally throughout Europe, competing with both my own horses and horses for owners. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to train alongside and learn from some of the UK’s top international riders. At just 16 years old, I was a stable jockey for John Whitaker, and I have also spent time at Ben Maher’s yard with my own horses. My long-standing trainer and mentor is Gisela Holstein, an FEI Grade 1 listed judge, whose knowledge and experience have played an important role in my development.
My equestrian career began in showing and working hunter, where I competed successfully at top level before making the switch to show jumping at the age of 13. One of my biggest early achievements was qualifying my 12.2hh Connemara pony for the Horse of the Year Show, as well as achieving Breed Champion.
In 2008, I became the youngest person at the time to achieve the UKCC Level 2 BSJA Coaching Certificate. I have always had a passion for developing riders and enjoy working with enthusiastic clients of all abilities, from complete novices through to advanced and competitive riders. My coaching is built around developing confidence, technical understanding and a strong partnership between horse and rider, while drawing on the knowledge and experience I have gained throughout my own competitive career.
Although my own international showjumping career took somewhat of a back seat for a period while life took over, recent years have seen me enjoy producing and developing a wide variety of horses, with success across all three disciplines.
I am now focused on continuing to develop my own horses, riders and coaching business, while working towards returning to the higher levels of showjumping. I understand the commitment, discipline and hard work required to compete successfully at the highest level, and I remain as passionate and determined as ever to achieve those goals.
My aim is simple: to produce confident, capable horses and riders and to help them achieve their full potential, whether that is their first competition or the highest level of the sport.
