Arena Hobby Horsing are hosting a Christmas Show at the National Agricultural Centre in Kenilworth. There will be jumping, dressage and games, all with a Christmas twist. We'd love you to join us for a day of hobby horsing, friends and fun.
What to Expect:
Registration at 10:00am. Classes start at 10:30am.
Two competition rings running all day:
Ring One:
Show Jumping - classes starting at 30cm, up to 60cm. Jump over a course of jumps set at class height. All clear rounds go into a jump off against the clock!
30 cm and 40 cm will be split into age groups; 10 and under and over 10.
βοΈ Jingle Bell Grand National
Gallop through a winter wonderland of jumps and decorations in this playful, high-energy race. Fast legs, quick thinking and lots of Christmas cheer required! Riders will race in 3 s. Medals for all riders.
Ring Two:
π Best Turned Out – Christmas Themed
Judged on the most festive rider hobby horse combination! Think tinsel, Santa hats, glitter, elf outfits, reindeer antlers, candy-cane ribbons… the more Christmassy the better!
π Christmas Mounted Games
A super-festive twist on our favourite mounted games! Dash through Santa’s challenges, dodge jingling obstacles and race to the finish in a blur of tinsel and cheer. Fastest time takes the Christmas crown!
π Candy Cane Jousting Challenge
Armed with candy-cane jousting sticks, riders zoom past and try to knock down the Christmas targets. It’s all about accuracy, festive spirit and joyful chaos!
π Santa’s Sack Racing (Barrel Racing – Christmas Edition)
Dash around Santa’s giant gift sacks in a fast and festive race against the clock! Each sack is stuffed with “presents,” and riders must weave around them like Santa delivering gifts on Christmas Eve. It’s speedy, silly, and full of Christmas cheer — who can complete the course the fastest without knocking over Santa’s sacks?
π Jingle Jump Chase Me Charlie
Each round the Christmas jump gets taller! Who will soar like Santa’s sleigh and who will get caught in the tinsel? Last rider standing wins!
πΆ Dressage to Christmas Music
Riders create a freestyle routine to their favourite Christmas track. Please let us know the week before the show what your song choice is so we can download it beforehand.
π All riders will receive a well-done rosette, with placings awarded from 1st to 6th in each class. And if you win a class? You’ll automatically go forward to compete for the coveted Best in Show title!

4 classes for £35
6 classes for £50

βοΈ Hobby Horse Christmas Musical Statues
Riders prance around on their hobby horses to Christmas songs — but when the music stops, they must FREEZE like a perfectly posed Christmas ornament! Anyone who wiggles, wobbles or giggles is out! π Prizes: Sweetie treats for the winners!
Pre-booking is recommended, but we’ll accept entries on the day if classes aren’t full. Please note that when booking online you are charged a small booking fee per class, so we recommend booking via Classes 13, 14 or 15, these are the multi-buy classes and mean you only pay one booking fee for multiple classes!
β There is an onsite café/restaurant at the venue called Farmers Fayre, who sell delicious snacks and lunches. Check out their website for the full menu.
πͺ Spectators are welcome — please note that this venue does not have a seated gallery so please bring a deckchair to sit and enjoy the fun.
π¬οΈ Venue Information - Our event takes place in a covered arena at an outdoor horse venue, so while you’ll be sheltered from rain, it can still feel chilly.
Wrap up warm, bring layers, and stay cosy while enjoying all the festive fun!
